The cover of the box carved with two confronting, stylised archaistic dragons in a deep brown colour, set against a light grey ground. The sides and base of the box with a smooth polish. The centre incised with a seal in archaic script reading 體元主人 ‘Ti Yuan Zhu Ren’ between two further dragons set within a double circle.
