This statue depicts the very moment when Gautama Buddha achieved enlightenment on the platform of enlightenment at the Mahabodhi Temple in Bodh Gaya. The Vajra placed in front of the Buddha identifies this image as Buddha Vajrasana which means “Diamond Throne” .
The base is sealed with a gilt copper plaque engraved with a snow lion.
